For many of us, life is hectic. With so many competing tasks and obligations it is hard to avoid feeling over-committed and overwhelmed.

This is a workshop about our overwhelmed lives and how to manage the demands our choices place upon us without losing ourselves in the process.

Tarra Judson Stariell is a licensed Marriage, Family Therapist with private offices in Escondido and San Diego.  She is a local trainer with the Southern California Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis and previously Faculty Chair.  She has been working in the field for 16 years and specializes in working with trauma, auto-immune and dissociative disorders.   

Tarra believes in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship, incorporating Bioenergetics and other mind-body approaches in her work with clients.   She believes in empowering the individual in the therapeutic process, facilitating the discovery of one's true potential, with all their abilities, wonder and mystery.

I believe emotions are like mud and encrusted dirt covering a beautifully clear and multi-faceted diamond. Washing away our emotions, reveals the love and joy-filled being we are underneath. The path to this natural state involves expressing our emotions -- no matter how ugly or shameful we judge them to be . . .

Tarra has presented on "Attachment Issues", "Bringing the Body into the Therapy Room", "The Other Side of Grief" and was a keynote speaker at the 2010 Southern California Bioenergetic Conference.

This workshop is intended for the general public (especially people in Southern California).  Anyone who:

• is chronically busy, over-scheduled and overwhelmed
• feels like they are going through life on "autopilot"
• gets lost in carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders
• is a double-booker, multi-tasker and always running late
• has a difficult relationship with their body (everything hurts)
• wants more “me” time but is always putting it off

and, doesn't have time to attend this workshop... should attend :)  

Participants will experience exercises and tools that facilitate retrieving the lost parts of ourselves.  What does it mean to have an "embodied" sense of self?  Why is it so common to feel separated from one's self?  One of the goals of the workshop is to help mend this separation.

Emotion is not a noun, but rather a verb . . .  Seeing emotion as a verb opens our mind to a fluid, moving mechanism that acts, changes, transforms.
