Expanding the Circle of Compassion

“…that’s what Little-Brains do…”

…Being from earth as you are, and using as little of your brain as you do, your life has pretty much been devoted to dealing with fear… everybody on earth deals with fear… that’s what Little Brains do…
— from the Albert Brooks comedy, ‘Defending Your Life’

Hi everyone,

The older I get, the faster time seems to go. I suspect I’m not the only one. Hmmm… now that I think about it, the older I get, the more the world looks populated by 12-year-olds that claim to be in their twenties.  And… come to think of it, the older I get, I realize that a lot of things older people said that I didn’t believe when I was much, much younger are actually true.

Age changes us. It’s meant to. And by the way, no, I am really not that old… yet 😉

I remember the first time I learned Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises and heard its creator, Dave Berceli, talk about “Wisdom Born of Trauma”. It was one of the most inspiring and optimistic views of trauma, recovery, and potential for evolving the species that I had ever heard. Currently in this world, we have a shortage of wise elders and instead, a society full of “grey-haired adolescents” … except here in Orange County almost everyone has a stylist 😉

The point is that it doesn’t have to be that way. We can grow, we can heal, and we can evolve into a more conscious, compassionate human race. It is possible, if enough of us collectively choose to pursue the path that leads to wisdom.

It’s been 10 years since I first met Dave. OMG has it really been that long?! Geez… it feels like it was only yesterday. Seriously, where does the time go?… Anyway… My good friend and colleague,Terri Martin, was also there back in 2004 for the initial life-changing first TRE / first Berceli experience, and in a few short weeks we embark upon the next phase of the journey, not just teaching TRE for self-use, but beginning to train others to teach it.

We will be teaching TRE Certification Level I August 22-24 in San Diego. (Yay!)

So, give it some thought, check out the info at the above link, and sign up soon if you want to do it as we are going to limit it to a small number of attendees.

Also, a friendly reminder about this weekend. I hope you are planning to join us Sunday July 27 6:30p in Irvine for God Grew Tired of Us. With Wai, Julia and Joseph there, it’ll be a great event 🙂

Warmly,
